“Oklahoma!” is the first collaboration of the legendary team of composer Richard Rodgers and librettist Oscar Hammerstein II. The original Broadway production opened in March 1943. It was an immediate smash hit, and ran for an unprecedented 2,212 performances, later enjoying award-winning revivals, national and international tours and an Academy Award-winning 1955 film adaptation. It was revived on Broadway in 1951, 1979 and 2002, and had a memorable tour of the United Kingdom in 2010. In 1993, the show won a Special Tony Award for its 50th anniversary.

The local company’s artistic staff for the production includes Jerry Tracy, director; Joel Gimpel, music director; Marinella Savarese, vocal and choral director; Lee Vinson, dance choreographer; David A.
